By ViewPoint DCS, users can view diagrams, graphic presentations and slide lectures simultaneously with other participants in the videoconference. Users are also able to enjoy the convenience of chat, whiteboard and file transfer. All these additional applications make the videoconference more applicable for distance learning, telemedicine, telestock, etc.

Complementary Service

Working with the Multipoint Control Unit, the ViewPoint DCS enables users to enjoy not only video and audio service but also abundant data services including application sharing, text chat, whiteboard, and file transfer.

Data Conference Management

The ViewPoint DCS undertakes the T.120 data conference management including data conference initiation, termination, endpoints dialing-in control and endpoints joining control.

Large Capacity

The ViewPoint DCS supports at most 128 concurrent calls and 64 concurrent data conferences, and the calling bandwidth for each of these endpoints can reach 64kbps. The maximum calling bandwidth for each endpoint can reach 384kbps.

Cascaded Conference

The ViewPoint DCS can be cascaded to max. 6 levels, so that to expand network capacity.

Flow Control

The ViewPoint DCS is responsible for realtime data flow control of each endpoint and statistics report during the data conference. This feature eliminates network congestion caused by errors at one endpoint.

Security Control

ViewPoint DCS adopted three security control policies.

• IP address authentication mode: the validity of the endpoint is authenticated by means of the IP address received from the SMC;
• Conference password authentication mode: the ViewPoint DCS authenticates the endpoint through the password it has been given;
• Conference lock mode: The dial-in mode is locked up by the ViewPoint DCS and only the T.120 server can dial-out.

Log Reports

The log report records the information on the starting and termination of the conferences, endpoint dialingin, endpoint dropping-out, error or warning. The logs can be backed up weekly or monthly.
